Due to recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Big Blue Liriope. In my opinion, Liriope is one of the finest evergreen perennials that one can plant. It is trouble free and has great flowers over a long period during the late spring and summer and is easily maintained. 'Big Blue' is one of the oldest cultivars with its 14" leaves and even taller flower spike of lavender-purple flowers. It is best to cut the foliage down in late winter so that new fresh leaves can emerge without being mixed with the old.  I think that it is best used in mass rather than in rows. It will grow in sun or shade and is fairly drought tolerant once established.
