Joan Senior Daylily. This cultivar was one of the earliest cultivars bred to produce a white to near white flower and this is as close to white as one will find along with 'Gentle Shepherd.' It has wonderful round almost white flowers on a 24-36" scape. As with all Daylilies, they love full sun and soil with good drainage and uniform moisture. And as with all daylilies, the flowers are edible. A salad garnished with daylily flowers is stunning. Just make sure you don't use any pesticides on your plants if you intend to eat them. Daylily blooms have a slightly peppery lettuce flavor. Eat them in bud or after opening.
