Ellen Bosanquet Crinum Lily. If one is looking for a spectacular color with a Crinum, this is the cultivar. The color is so different from the old "Milk and Wine" Lily that we would see at Grandma's house throughout the Deep South. Even though this selection was bred in the 1920's in Florida by Louis Bosanquet and named for his wife, it is just now becoming readily available. It is a dependable bloomer and a good multiplier with 24-30" scapes from June through to early fall. The flowers are a bright publish-red. Crinums are the "no brainers" in the perennial garden. They thrive on neglect and all they ask for is plenty of sun, good drainage and a modicum of water, and one will be greatly rewarded. It is hardly from zones 6b-10.
