Crinum. This South African native Crinum is the basis for much of the breeding work done with this genus. It has flowers which are white blushed pink with a red petal stripe and a slight fragrance topping scapes upwards of 3'. In its native habitat it can be found in wet areas along lake and river banks. It is thought to be the most cold hardy of all Crinum species with some found growing in zone 6 with winter mulch. The picture is courtesy of Plantrescue.com.
