Peppermint Stick Giant Reed Grass. This new selection of the Giant Reed Grass is far superior to the old variegated form because its white variegated leaves do not fade to green even in our heat. It was imported from the Shanghai Botanic Garden by plantsman Greg Speichert. It will reach 10-12' topped with a bronzy plume in late summer. You will be stunned by the beauty of this selection. Give it plenty of room, because it will make a large clump. In mild winter years, it rarely dies to the ground here, but I am sure it will further north.
