Due to recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Double Diamond  Lily-of-the-Nile. This exquisite small-growing Agapanthus was developed in South Africa and grows to only about 8 in. tall  and blooms with double white flowers. It does have stamens, but it has twice the petals of any other Lily-or-the-Nile. This is an ideal size with which to populate a rock garden. What a contrast to the giant 'Storm Cloud' which towers to over 3 ft. tall with its azure blue umbels. They flower heaviest when planted in full sun and kept well fertilized. One of the most important aspects to remember in growing Agapanthus is that here in most of the Deep South we need to lime annually. Remember that this genus is almost exclusively native to the limestone hills of South Africa. This is  the most dwarf Agapanthus that we grow or that I have actually ever seen. Much more dwarf than 'Peter Pan'.
