Gordon's Flash Camellia. I first saw this variegated selection posted on FaceBook by Camellia aficionado Mike Chelednik. 'Gordon's Flash' is a variegated sport of Camellia japonica 'Maroon and Gold', and the flower is identical to its parent. It was found on a plant by Gordon Rabelais of Louisiana. My original exposure to Camellias with variegated foliage was in Japan, and now some of our best new variegated selections are coming out of the U.S. from observant Camellia fanciers. This is one of those. The second picture is courtesy of Mike Chelednik and the last picture is courtesy of Jay Yourch.
