Due to the recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Sunburst St John's Wort. A selection of our southeastern native Golden St. John's Wort, it makes a 3-4' rounded shrub with distinct narrow bluish-green leaves, which for us in zone 8 remains mostly evergreen. The 2" flowers are the typical golden-yellow powder puffs of the species. This is a great plant for massing and naturalizing in part to full sun. In Europe it is considered to be the best performer of all of the American species of Hypericum, of which we have many 32 species alone listed in FLORA OF THE CAROLINAS.
