Stephens Garden Camellia. This cultivar was given to me by friend and fellow nurseryman Mark Crawford of Loch Laurel Nursery, Valdosta, Georgia. He insisted that I must grow it because my family name was "Stephens". After doing research, I found out that it was an introduction from another friend and fellow nurseryman Bobby Green of Fairhope, Alabama. It was a chance seedling, and I had never even seen the flower of this selection until it flowered shortly after receiving it. It has a 4 inch formal double soft pink flower with up to 100 petals. The seedling is most beautiful and it first flowered in 1965 and was published in The Camellia Journal in June, 2008. The first picture is courtesy of John Walker.
