Lafayette Compact Crape Myrtle. This dwarfish Crape Myrtle was by developed by horticulturist David Chopin of Scenery Hill, PA. His creations are sometimes called the "Dixie Series". This compact selection has a spreading, weeping form, but its real charm is its blush pink to lavender flower heads as one can see from the photos. It works beautifully in a perennial border or as a mass planting. The last picture is courtesy of the Missouri Botanical Garden.
