Due to the recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Deutzia gacilis 'Duncan' PP16098 / PROVEN WINNERS® COLOR CHOICE® CHARDONNAY PEARLS® This relatively new introduction has bright lime-yellow foliage in the spring, which is then shortly covered with the delicate fragrant white flowers of the species. Once the foliage begins to harden off, it will turn chartreuse. It does quite well in the shade, but the spring color will not last as long. This plant should mature at around 30" with a slightly greater spread. Deer have been attracted to its foliage, but a light sprinkling of Milorgonite every few weeks will easily keep them at bay.
