Due to the recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Cistus 'Mickie' PP23,024. Upon first observation of the foliage of this plant, one might think that it is a brilliant evergreen Coleus. But the genus Cistus is native to the American Northwest and is almost impossible to grow in the humid and hot southeastern U. S. But amazingly, this variegated hybrid form does well under these conditions. It makes an evergreen mound of about 30" high and 4 ft. spread. It adorns itself in single white flowers in spring to early summer. Grow it in full sun in a well drained medium and it will thrive. The first two pictures are compliments of Michael Chelednik and were taken at the J.C. Raulston Arboretum at NCSU, Raleigh, NC.
