Due to the recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Cameo Flowering Quince. One of the most double of the Flowering Quince cultivars, with an apricot-pink bloom and absolutely no thorns! It tends to flower with the foliage in late winter starting here in February. It has very dense branching and suckers heavily. Grow Quinces in full sun for best flower and there may be an occasional fruit, which is totally inedible fresh, but makes great jams and jellies. Cameo will eventually make a 5' by 5' shrub. It does great in full sun to part shade with good drainage. Deer have never been a problem, but when plants are small, rabbits tend to relish the young stems in the winter.
