Due to the recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Silver Sceptre Sedge. With white striped leaves only about half the size of 'Ice Dance', this Carex makes a stunning edging plant or an awesome groundcover. When planted in shade this selection makes a dramatic statement as a border or mass planting. It is quite well behaved but will slowly spread. Dr. Masato Yakoi, a friend in Japan, first introduced this plant. He was truly a world expert on variegated plants. With trials at his University, it has proven to be the most cold hardy of any variegated Carex.
