Due to the recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Bunny Blue Sedge. This wonderful NATIVE sedge was found by plantsman and friend Bob Head of Seneca, SC. It is a low evergreen groundcover which is ideal for shady woodlands, with each clump spreading to 18 inches across and is native . It is perfect under hardwoods because fallen leaves can be so easily raked off. It prefers shade to filtered sun and will tolerate more sun when it is growing in an irrigated area. Another great aspect of this selection is that it is deer resistant, with no diseases or insect pests. It can be found in the wild from Canada to Florida, but of course this is a superior selection.
