Due to the recent discovery of the spotted lanternfly in South Carolina, California has restricted the shipment of plants from SC as well as 15 other states in which the spotted lanternfly had already been found. It was found over 100 miles from Nurseries Caroliniana, but the whole state has been put under quarantine until a treatment protocol can be worked out to resume shipments to California. Authorities hope that this can be accomplished by the end of the month.

Vibrant Azalea. When one first sees this Azalea in full flower, it is an experience never to be forgotten. Its picotteed flowers with a white center and a wide vibrant pink "halo" makes for a stunning visual impact. It was developed by James Harris of Lawrenceville, GA, and is a cross between 'Amagasa' and 'Grace Freeman', both late flowering types. So for us it flowers with our Japanese Satsuki Azaleas in May. It will attain a height of 3-4 feet with an equal or great spread. As with most Azaleas they will tolerate full sun with daily watering, but if this can't be provided, it is best to plant in filtered sun. As with all Azaleas, plant shallow and mulch well.
